We at Just The Basics L.L.C. work with our clients to offer a balanced plan to assist in maintaining their lawn to the utmost level of professionalism. To accomplish this, our equipment is regularly maintained and checked frequently. The blades are changed frequently to ensure a sharp and professional cut. The tires are checked for proper inflation. The decks are checked for accuracy and level. We do the work so you don’t have to.
Proper mowing is the most important thing you can do for your lawn. Frequency of mows plays a large part in the process as well as properly maintained equipment. Here in southern Louisiana we are fortunate to have a relatively hearty grass called St. Augustine. This particular type of grass is at its best when cut frequently with the seasonal growth patterns taken into consideration. The optimal height to cut St. Augustine grass is 2 ½ to 3 inches. With this being said, when cutting St. Augustine grass, it is best to cut no more then 1/3 of the total length of the existing grass. This reduces the trauma that the grass suffers as a plant and also its susceptibility to disease and weed encroachment. This is not to say that you are completely protected from said negatives but that it will significantly reduce the chances of their occurring.
Maintenance and proper adjustment of mowing equipment is essential to maintaining the favorable height and overall quality of the lawn being maintained. It is a necessity to ensure that the blades are sharp. Not only for a neat and clean appearance but also because the grass suffers trauma from cutting with a dull blade. A dull blade will tear a blade of grass as opposed to cutting it. Again, this trauma can lead to an increased possibility of disease and/or weed encroachment.
With the exception of most push mowers with solid wheels, the air pressure in any tires can become a factor if not properly monitored and maintained. Uneven air pressures can cause an otherwise perfect cut to look unattractive.
Over the course of time and use the belts and deck components can become degraded and require adjustment.
We at Just The Basics L.L.C. maintain our equipment to a high standard so you don’t have to. We pride ourselves in providing you, our clients, with the best possible service which extends far past the cutting of your grass. When you return home we want you to feel as proud to have Just The Basics L.L.C. maintaining your yard as we are to have you as a client.
